Jimin looks surprised by the sudden loud outburst in the relatively small hallway. He jumps back a step, looking at Jeongguk with wide eyes, the realisation slowly dawning on him as he looks back and forth between Jeongguk and Jeongguk’s front door.
“Wait, wait- you’re the miserable ahjussi who lives next door?!” he exclaims, pointing an accusatory finger at Jeongguk.
“Ahjussi?”
Jeongguk’s jaw drops to the floor.
Never, in his twenty seven years of life has he been called ahjussi.

It was a dumb promise. Jeongguk knew Jimin didn’t mean it. So when his lifelong best friend kind of proposed to him, he said yes.

I can shrink him down as much as I want, but if they bring a mage—and they will bring a mage—there’s going to be a magical signature different from my own that they’ll be able to pick up on. And even if I did shrink him down to the size of literal dust, they would still know he's here somewhere and do a revealing charm. Besides, the likelihood of him getting injured in such a state—or worse—is far too high."
A long screech follows.
"Changing size is easy. You're still inherently you. But changing form…now changing form is something else entirely. Not just any witch can do that, and if—when I pull it off, they'll never suspect."

Jeongguk wants to try something a little unconventional for his end of the year art project. He wants to paint someone he's never seen using their own description of themselves. He likes the idea, but doesn't fancy trusting a stranger in his space, and nearly scraps the project, until Taehyung informs him he knows someone trustworthy who would be perfect.
Park Jimin is awkward but sweet. A specific kind of lovely that Jeongguk can't help but become enamoured with, and as he sketches and paints different renditions of a man he can only hear, but cannot see, he becomes increasingly eager for the day when he'll finally be able to take him in with his own eyes, positive that every version he's created on paper or canvas falls remarkably short.
