Their attachments made them weak but, still, he wanted to feel what they felt. To exert complete control over another living creature's life and body. He never had the chance because he never found a mob he wanted to keep as a pet, so he did nothing.
He wasn’t sure when he first had the idea for a more unorthodox pet. Maybe it was during Tommy’s first exile, when Dream was forced to watch him follow Wilbur around like a dog. Or maybe it was earlier, when Tommy gave Dream his disks for L’manberg’s independence, his hands held out with the offering, eyes begging.
