Summary
It's a difficult thing when the person you need isn't the person you can have. TK and Carlos navigate their break up from not only being a couple but also being in a Dom/sub relationship that fulfils a part in their life they can't get from anyone else.
this is my take on the break up between season 2 and 3.

“What do you need?” Carlos says, he can feel the air change around them. Something in Carlos has snapped and he’s no longer worried about his own anger or hurt, he’s worried about TK and what he can do to help him.
TK bites his lip and fights back tears that are threatening to spill from his eyes. His eyes are duller than Carlos has ever seen them. “I need to be brought out of my head. I don’t want- I…” Carlos waits patiently, whatever TK needs, he needs to be able to verbalise it before Carlos can act. TK sighs and screws his eyes shut, “I don’t need a boyfriend right now I need a dom.”
