In addition to his expertise in Italian literature, Rey thinks her LinkedIn rec should read, Professor Solo has an absolutely filthy mouth and given the opportunity, I would greatly enjoy coming on it.Her eyes drop to his lips, and she examines them closely, not for the first time. He has a wide, well-defined bow in his upper lip, with his lower lip being just slightly fuller. It often protrudes, making him look slightly sad. She thinks about nipping at that pert lower lip, testing its firmness with her teeth and tongue.
Just then, his tongue emerges to lick the lip she’d been focused on, and she starts to wonder about his tongue, too. Stop staring, she tells herself. He’ll notice.
The beautiful, supple lips start moving. He’s speaking.
“…Either way, it might be nice to stay in touch,” he’s saying when she finally snaps out of her mouth-induced trance.

Summary
In recovery from his war wounds, Ben finds an advertisement in the newspaper: "Lady, fiancé killed, will marry officer maimed, blinded, or otherwise incapacitated by the War." This lady clearly views herself as something of a nurse in want of a man for whom to care. She is, of course, grief-stricken by the loss of her fiancé and believes herself incapable of finding love or marriage in any normal way. The best she can hope for herself is to be of use to someone in need.
And Ben... well, he is in need.
