Summary
Jonny wakes up first, a foot away from Patrick on the bed and tangled in the sheets he'd kicked off in the night. Patrick in his sleep is a mostly unremarkable thing. His hair is a few weeks overdue for a haircut, just a shade too long, and he's snoring softly, mouth open and drool gathering on the pillow beneath him.
Jonny would go to the ends of the Earth with him. He would kill and die with him. He has gotten into really ill-advised brawls at rec-league volleyball tournaments with him. When Jonny thinks about the enormity of all that, everything else pales in comparison.

Summary
One anomaly still remained - Sanguinet. He’s worked with him the longest and yet he feels like he’s the most distant with him. Yeah, he didn’t live with him like the other boys, but he wanted to know more about him. He could tell there was a hesitancy to fully immerse himself with the rest of the team. He’d join them for panini’s or go to the bar with them, but Shoresy could see he wasn’t fully there. He has witnessed this behavior both as a teammate but now even more so as a coach. He’s not confident, which frustrates Shoresy to no end. As he has reiterated time and time again, he hates to lose. And he’s losing.
