When Sirius gets a letter from his parents, his fight or flight springs up and so he runs away and hides. Remus and James are used to this, but they get worried when he doesn't return, and so they go out to find him.

Summary
James has been told something that has made him suddenly break up with his boyfriend. Regulus is confused and that confusion has been quickly replaced by anger as he shouts at James for what he thinks is a mistake.
They both love each other but James is insecure and this time, he hides it well enough to not make Regulus come to the conclusion that this 'sudden break up' is actually stemmed from James insecurities, and not something he genuinely believe the two of them should do.(note that if i do make this into a longer thing, each chapter will be about how James potter fucks up each of his friendships, until regulus catches on to something because im a sucker for hurt comfort. sue me.)
