Will sighs, resigned. He drops his hands. “Okay. Honestly?” He hesitates, then shrugs. “He was a bad kisser. And I just… couldn’t get excited around him. At all.”
The reaction is immediate and merciless. Dustin makes a dramatic gagging noise. El gasps like she’s been handed gossip gold. Lucas high-fives Max, shaking her hand in his.
Mike doesn’t say anything. He just watches Will, watches the way he shrugs it off, the way he laughs a little too loud, the way his ears go red.
Or, Will's new boyfriend is a bad kisser. Mike thinks it's a crime that no one has kissed Will properly. He's on a goal to change that, Carlton be damned.

Summary
I wrote this at like 3:00am based on a dream I had. So.
.Mike was touchy, it was just in his nature.
Maybe that's why, when Mike reached out, hands cupping his own, leaning in close, a murmur of “I miss you, Will. I miss us,” all Will did was squeeze back, the way he always had.
It started off the same as always, something unintentional that Will could brush off, accident touches that slowly grew into something friendly, platonic, normal. The occasional nudge of an elbow to his side, a long look and a hand reaching out to grip his shoulder. Simple. Friendly.
But now?
Now Mike couldn't seem to be able to keep his hands off of him.
It was driving Will crazy.

(Updated Summary)
It feels like flying too close to the sun. There has to be a point where Mike realizes what’s going on and stops it. Where he realizes that everything is teetering on the edge of being wrong, too far, inexcusable. What will the final straw be? What is the thing that Will gives in to, far too heartily, with enthusiasm that doesn’t seem platonic anymore.
Will it be something instinct based? A moment where Will can’t stand the way his scent clings to his clothing or how everything blooms when Mike stretches his neck for the fiftieth time in an hour? Or is it just one of those moments where he crouches down and looks up at him despite being several inches taller, that makes Will snap and say something – or worse – do something.
Would Mike be disgusted? Perturbed? Uncomfortable? Would he pretend it's not a big deal and simply pull away slowly? That one would hurt the most.
And then Will remembers El, and his thinking breaks down ever further.
Mike has a girlfriend. It would be stupid. It would be counterproductive. It would be reckless and mean and wrong. Ultimately wrong.
