The profound impact this fic had on my music taste at age fifteen when I read it for the first time needs to be studied. Years of my father trying to get me into The Smiths to no avail, only for them to be my top artist every year since reading a gay fanfiction of a gay fanficion from a book about gay fanfiction. The lord works in mysterious ways. Superbly written, and has become more canon to me than the original book. BasicBathsheba Carry On-verse, you are so special to me, rereading makes me feel like I am in year eleven again.
