"I have no idea what you're talking about. I always say exactly what I mean to say." Roy sniffed haughtily - something he had learned from his time schmoozing with the brass. Riza just stared at him blankly, blinking slowly, completely and utterly unimpressed by Roy's pretense. She had always been capable of seeing right through him. And most of the time he appreciated it; needed it, even.
But today was enough of a shitstorm without throwing her blunt, but far too true criticisms at him. Unfortunately, despite how meticulously she looked over his papers, she hadn't quite gotten the memo that it was "Please give Roy Mustang a break" day. And neither had the rest of the military. Which was absolutely criminal if he said so himself. Which he did. But even more unfortunately, Riza just had to call him out on his bullshit, right in front of the rest of his team no less.
"Of course. And I'm sure that's why Ed is gone and we're facing the very real threat of another government take over by Bradley's remaining supporters." The second part was not his fault and he said as much. Riza just raised an eyebrow at him, unamused. "If you say so, sir."

And if he hadn’t, Roy’s first concern turned to finding the thermometer tucked away in the medicine cabinet. Unless Ed had ‘borrowed’ it for his lab. Again.
“Stop being a shit. I’m saying that I’m perfectly fine with it. So yeah… wake me up with it, ‘kay?”

It started with nothing more than a twitch. It wasn’t entirely unusual - at least back in the days when Ed would push himself beyond his body’s limits using nothing more than a bit of caffeine, desperation, and an overwhelming sense of guilt. But that wasn’t his life now, it hadn’t been in eleven years.
It was just a twitch, his automail foot briefly spasming downwards for not even a full second. It was odd, but it happened once and he didn’t feel anything else off. Ed hummed to himself, pointed his automail foot forward then back, with no other anomalies making themselves present. He shrugged and went back to what he was doing. It was nothing.
He should have known that nothing in his life had ever been nothing.

Summary
Victor cradles Yuuri’s face like it's the most precious thing he'll ever hold between his hands. "You know," he says, quietly, uncovering a revelation, "I think you could hurt me if you made up your mind to do it."
What he means is: you might be the only one who could. Yuuri smooths his hands over Victor's broad shoulders and considers it. "I could," he agrees. He thinks love has that power, demands a certain sacrifice of self. Its existence guarantees the possibility of pain. "... but it would also hurt me." It makes Yuuri sad to think of it, and so he sinks, once more, into the fragrant field of Victor’s emotions and lets himself be comforted by the adoration and desire he finds there; strums along them both until Victor’s vibrating with them, an instrument Yuuri’s yanked into tune and which he intends to play. "Is this too much?"
Victor gives the question the consideration it's due. "No," he says, and slots their lips together once more. You can go further.
