Summary
Chris keeps throwing subtle glances towards Leon as they advance through the dark tunnels only illuminated by their flashlights.
Something is wrong with Leon. Chris just knows it.
The way he had pulled away from Chris as if he’d been burned, the paleness of his face and the sheer fear he’d read in his eyes when he’d shone the light on his face…
Even now, Leon’s stance is rigid, the tension in his shoulders visible as is the tightness of his grip around his handgun.
More strangely, there’s also a scent following in Leon’s wake. There shouldn't be one since Leon is a beta.
It confuses Chris. He doesn’t know what to make of it all.

Summary
It’s less than 24 hours post-mission from successfully stopping the virus from spreading at Alcatraz, and the team decided to go out for a drink since it’s the least they can do.
Which is fine, except for the fact that Leon has kept that he’s an omega for so long that it starts forcing its way through him. So with Piers help, he escapes to a hotel where he has his first heat (he’s been taking suppressants since he was 19, he’s never had a heat)
Chris comes to save him, and somehow from there they end up mated by the end of the night.
Or TLDR: Leon escapes bar in heat, Chris comes after him in worry, fucking ensues, they become mates.

Peering through the window, the blank eyes of a BOW stared at him. Without any thought beyond protecting the omega in his arms, Chris whipped out his Samurai Edge. One well placed shot was all it took to pierce the glass and the skull between the monster’s eyes.
Who would have thought he would spend his day shooting undead while a pretty omega sat on his knot.

“I could spend your heat with you,” Chris said, facing Leon as he leaned his hip against the balcony railing. “If you want,” He quickly added. There was a nervous twitch of a smile on his lips and his hand fidgeted against the stone knobbled ledge.
Leon blinked at him, wide and disbelieving. He couldn’t have heard that right. There was no way Chris was offering to do this for him. He knew what Leon would need from an alpha; intimacy, almost constant physical touch, sex.

Summary
There is a tacit understanding between those who constantly live in danger that separation is never too far away. Friends and enemies alike may leave just as suddenly as they arrive, greetings and farewells exchanged as quickly as a rapidly firing gun. However, to worry is to be human, and even though Chris should've grown used to the shadows of death haunting those around him, himself included, the thought of losing a loved one remains a thorn in his heart, one that he always fails to pluck away.

Leon looked better.
Leon looked better. His hair was clean, his breath didn't reek of booze, the bags under his eyes weren't nearly as dark as they were back in New York.
Leon had looked better - so why, why, why why why why is Chris peeling his best friend off the cold ground, dirt sticky with a mix of Leon's blood and vomit, the stench of alcohol permeating the air around his limp body.
