Summary
"As I said before Nathaniel, you have busted down the door to your adopted father's study while he was talking to his colleagues and were raving about being sold to the government, and how they were using invisible demons to control you. I wanted to admit you straightaway, because not a week later you started a house fire killing them, and blamed it on some imagery demon."
Or at least that's what Nathahiels therapist Dr. Lovelece told him. Nathaniel had been in group therapy ever since the house fire, he diden't want to be in group therapy but at least it was better than being alone behind closed doors with Dr. Lovelece where the older man's slimy hands like to wander. So Nathaniel has been trying to keep his best behavior to make sure that never happens again.
But something has been bothering Nathaniel since the fire, every time he thought about it the less and less it made sense that he could have started it. Nathaniel begins to investigate against his own best judgment with the help of an old friend Bartimaeus. Whose bond feels more real than anything else. As Nathaniel becomes closer and closer to Bartimaeus, the world between what's real and what's not becomes blurred.
