   Summary

   “Do you ever wonder what things would be like..” Spichka trailed off in the haze of smoke, like he wasn’t quite sure if he could say it in the open. Like it was sacred, like they couldn’t speak of it or else old demons would crawl up from under the floorboards and strangle them where they stood. Daniil’s blood ran cold. He knew what was coming, and he sighed. “If he was still alive?”

   “Yes.” The Bachelor’s voice was hush. “All the time.”

   Marble's Nest alternate ending wherein Daniil moved to the Capital after the Sand Plague and took Spichka and Mishka with him. They're all grieving in their own ways. Mainly in silence.
