The last he remembered was falling asleep in Zhongli’s arms and when he woke, it was to the sight of the god de-aged into a body younger than him. If Xiao had to guess from the power emitted from the god, Zhongli—or Morax as he was now—was around two thousand years old.
Not only that, but there was a sickening sweet smell seeping out of his body. Even if thousands of years had passed, Xiao would never forget this smell. It had been one of the poisons his former master liked to use—a poison strong enough to corrupt the bodies of the divine.
“Speak!” Morax growled and tightened his grip over the yaksha's neck. “Did Osial send you?”

Ayato has turned the corner into the gardens and is carrying a stack of paperwork. Thoma’s eyes land on him and his breath is absolutely stolen.
Ayato is as beautiful as the moon and all the stars in the sky. He’s grown taller and into his shoulders, an elegant man with a sharp jaw with that fetching birthmark near his lips. His skin is pale and his eyes still hold that intriguing sharpness to them that only Thoma knows is insecurity. In short, Ayato looks like a dream and Thoma feels himself falling over and over again in the span of ten seconds.
Or, Thoma leaves Inazuma that fateful night. Somehow, things turn out okay, and ten years later, Thoma finally gets his answer.
