Summary
Mid-December, a man tries to kill Steve and fails.
When it’s over, there’s a hole in Steve’s lungs and blood on his bed and a masked man with blank blue eyes pinned under his bulk. There’s a mind that breaks open for him and a throat that arches in silent submission, and there’s blood that tastes like nothing that’s ever touched Steve’s tongue, spring and winter in bursts of red.
It’s been a long time since Steve wanted to keep a human—centuries since the nights spent stalking Sam through the shadows of dark alleys and decades since the day Peggy realized what he was and drew a gun on him.
Steve runs his knuckles down his killer’s stubbled face, flushed with borrowed life as his flesh knits back together.
He’s a sweet boy. There are holes in his mind, and they mold themselves swiftly, almost willingly in the shape of Steve. Someone was there before him, that much is clear, but it’s not the foggy haze of a vampire’s thrall. There’s an elegance to that, some subtlety, but this is like someone took an iron rod and tore large, messy grooves through the man’s brain.

Summary
He’s dragged forward, his thrashing not doing a thing against the hydra’s shocking strength. At its widest, his tentacle is as thick as Bucky’s wrist. It tapers off towards the end. It’s subtly textured, not slimy like expected, but no less terrifying for it. The hydra pauses once Bucky’s under the cave’s opening, halfway between Pierce and the darkness on the other side.
“Johann is dead,” says the hydra. “I killed him.”
The words mean nothing to Bucky. But when he twists around to see, Pierce’s face is bloodless.
It’s the first time he’s seeing true fear on Alexander Pierce’s face.
“The deal you made with him is null and void, Alexander Pierce,” the hydra says. “And your people shall be better off for it.”
Pierce’s face tightens further.
“But you,” the hydra says – no rumbles, his voice making the water tremble. “You, not so much. I don’t appreciate this sacrifice.”
-
Bucky is chosen as his shoal's annual sacrifice to the hydra that lurks in their territory. Things take an unexpected turn when the monster that greets him in the dark turns out to be a wholly unfamiliar beast. -

Summary
Everyone knows Captain America is an alpha. His tragic romance with Howard Stark is as popular a topic for movies and academic papers as his exploits in the war. Sure, Stark never said a word, and he clearly moved on, given that Tony Stark is currently alive. But even now, people like to gossip in hushed whispers about how sad it is that Howard Stark passed away a mere two years before they found the good Captain in the ice.
Bucky gets it, alright? Alpha/omega is the norm. Matches sanctioned by god or whatever bullshit your conservative Christian sect of the day likes to ramble about. It’s the twenty-first century, and the world still runs on a maddening policy of straight until proven otherwise. Thing is, Bucky has most certainly proven otherwise and has been doing so since he was a wee alpha panting after some knothead or the other because being queer didn’t magically make him any less stupid than your average horny teenager.
Bucky’s an alpha, Bucky likes alphas, and he’d love nothing more than to climb Steve Rogers like a goddamn monkey bar.

Steve meets Bucky on a flaming helicarrier. It’s not the most romantic first meeting, what with the Nazis and the bullet wounds, but they make it work.- Language:

Summary
“Yelena,” he said. “What. The fuck. Is this.”
“What does it look like?”
What it looked like was a pillow. It was nearly as tall as Bucky was, and maybe a foot and a half wide. The background was white.
He noted all of these things in the back of his mind. The front of his mind was preoccupied with the stylized illustration of Sam, printed on the full length of the pillow. He gazed out at Bucky with the same easygoing expression Bucky had seen a thousand times, though somehow this version conveyed a distinct smolder.
He was also naked. At least, Bucky assumed he was. He was definitely shirtless and pantsless, but he was holding the shield over his crotch.
“It’s double-sided,” Yelena said helpfully.
(Bucky receives a birthday gift that he absolutely, positively, does not want. At all.
Until it starts coming in handy.)
