It's far too easy to fall apart like this. To hide in Alex’s arms, to enjoy the protection that comes from laying like this with her.
Sam wishes for another time and place. Where Alex wasn't barely getting over Maggie, where Sam wasn’t haunted by a unknown illness that threatened to ruin everything. Those words ball up in the pit of her throat, wanting to come out, wanting to tell Alex what she felt.
