Xie Lian collided with Hua Cheng with all his strength. If it weren't for Hua Cheng's own strength and balance, they would both have fallen to the ground. But Xie Lian knew Hua Cheng would hold him tightly, never letting him fall. Colliding in that embrace felt as if his soul had finally returned to where it belonged. Hua Cheng's arms wrapped tightly around him, pressing him to his chest as if he feared that if he let go, he would lose him again. In that moment, nothing else mattered, but the one in his arms.

After a bit of convincing from Hua Cheng, Xie Lian decides to shapeshift and join his husband in spying on-or as Xie Lian liked to put it, observing-the local villagers. However, while traveling, they quickly find a much better show to watch in the woods.

Summary

Curiosity gets the best of him and he decides to venture to this town that prays so ardently to a Ghost King. In this town that proclaims that they worship no gods, he never expects to find the one he’s been searching for for 800 years.
