When she’d gone out that night, it hadn’t been with a plan to pick up a guy. It’d been more of a proof of concept. And maybe she’d wanted to prove to her mother and to her roommate that she was open and able to have that other kind of life, if she’d wanted it. So she’d faked herself an ID, gone to the closest college pick-up bar, and found Oliver, with his terrible floppy hair and his stupid frat boy clothes and his beautiful blue eyes that begged her to like him.
