  Summary

  "Perhaps that's the reason why people find airports and empty parking lots unsettling, Sakusa thought to himself, nobody is used to being in these spaces for extended periods of time. Maybe nobody is made to exist too long in between one destination and the next."

   

  For Sakusa Kiyoomi home was never a fixed location where memories of growing up were etched into the walls. Instead, he found the comforts of home in Miya Atsumu. Halfway into Kiyoomi's time at university, a train platform bears witness to a painful breakup and leaves the two men heading towards opposite ends of the tracks. Years later, Kiyoomi is back aboard the train only this time he's heading towards Osaka instead of away. 3 years can change a lot and Kiyoomi must face the possibility of returning to a home he might not recognize—however, as the gears grate along the rails all he can do is keep moving forward. Sometimes things have to fall apart in order to build something better.
