“Okay”, replied Annie happily, hurrying to the pretzel stand as she was prone to do. Could never just walk normally, that girl. She was always hurrying.

Annie stared at the giant screens stretching across the lefthand wall, currently showing a meadow full of pretty yellow flowers. She thought they might’ve been daffodils.
Then, something else clicked in her brain. “He was your campaign manager?”
Mr. Stacks gave her that look, the one he reserved for when he thought she was being especially ridiculous. “I fired him. Obviously. I don’t ever wanna see his face again, let alone have him anywhere near you.”
