Kaz Brekker and Anastasya Sidorova have been friends, partners in crime, family, since they were twelve and thirteen years old. Through thick and thin, through good and bad, they have been each other's comfort in these years and they have made the Dregs what they are. Now, the distinction between friendship and love is blurring, and everyone around them can see. During the culmination of a conflict between the Dregs and the Black Tips, Kaz snaps and drives Anastasya away, leaving destruction in her wake.
