Summary
You can feel vibrations at the edge of your awareness, a faint distracting ever-present hum; but the Crystal doesn’t call for you. You cannot help whistling tunelessly under your breath as you steer the blackwagon, an old nervous habit, but you keep your eyes on the horizon and leave her be.
She’ll call when she needs you. If she needs you. If you can even be of assistance with...whatever is happening.
Still, you cannot shake your sense that something is badly wrong.(The Reader is about to face a difficult decision.)
