Breakaway: Where one player is carrying the puck towards the net to score and is completely unobstructed by the defense. If a skater is obstructed from behind while on a breakaway it can result in a penalty shot being awarded to that player.
-He stares at his number. Which he has. On his phone. For the team. He’s trying to be more captain-like, keeping track of everything, of the players. The only other real option is Baldy, and he’s far better at playing the game than Baldy, so. Anyway, maybe this time it’ll pay off.
Before he can overthink, he hits the call button on his phone and listens to it ring: one, two, three, four, five, six-
“Uh, hello?” Geto’s voice is uncertain on the other end of the receiver. His accent in English isn’t even that bad, Satoru thinks. “Who is this?”

Summary
Fushiguro Megumi. Gojo Satoru. They wake, mirror by mirror, from a dream neither wants to leave. Megumi dreams of an easy life, free from the suffocating cruelty of the Zen’in clan. Satoru dreams of giving a child that same freedom, raising him with love. Their dreams are beautiful. Full of hope. In that dream, Satoru gives Megumi hope. And Megumi gives Satoru something just as fragile in the same dream. But reality tears them apart. Satoru wakes to a life where he has never lost anything: his best friend, his lover, his husband: Geto Suguru. He is a teacher now, guiding two students, haunted by the absence of a third he can’t remember.
Megumi wakes to punishment. To a world where freedom is distant and mercy is rare. He is Zen’in, and that is not a legacy to be proud of.
Two lives. Two realities. Bound only by a dream they remember each other through.
(Or: The Jujutsu Kaisen universe is Satoru and Megumi’s shared dream. In reality, they never met and never knew each other. Megumi remains with the Zen’in clan, and Satoru married Suguru, who never left Jujutsu High. One day, under certain circumstances, they finally meet.)

God, this is it. Gojo tugs off his blindfold and watches it flutter pathetically to the floor like a dying butterfly. He’d rather swim in a sea of curses than do this, but Megumi deserves to know.
“Me.”
Megumi’s breath hitches. A thousand microexpressions that Gojo’s learned to read over the years flicker across his features like the pages of a flipbook. “...what?”
“It was me. I killed him,” Gojo confirms. “I killed your father, Megumi.”
