He waited for her breathing to slow before carefully lifting her back onto the mattress and pulling the blanket over her sleeping frame. He then stroked her forehead a few times until her intense facial expression had relaxed completely. He would absolutely do this all night, at least until she insisted that he get some sleep as well. A slight wave of nausea overtook him but he rode it out with a deep, cleansing breath.
Someday, they would both sleep peacefully again.
Someday.
Or, Gordon and Alyx sleep in shifts at White Forest, suffering from insomnia and night terrors.
