The invitation caught Eunseok's eye immediately when he finally bothered leafing through his pile of mail. A large envelope of thick, creamy paper with a gilded crest in the shape of a stylized plum flower — the symbol of the royal family. He cracked open the wax seal and slid out the card, eyes drawn to the picture at the top, a formal portrait of a teenage boy in grey hanbok.
The accompanying text read: "You are cordially invited to join us in the Blue Palace for a special homecoming celebration in honour of our beloved Crown Prince Chanyoung. Having completed a bachelor's degree at Berklee College of Music with superior academic achievement, His Royal Highness wishes to demonstrate his skill and learning with a set of compositions to all lovers of music."
