    Nobara was already rolling her eyes when she looked up.

    “Yo,” Itadori said. He looked normal enough, hair tousled and hoodie collar wrinkled. No obvious limping, not too dark of eyebags, no trembling in the hand held in a lazy wave above his head. She didn’t like looking for those tells, but it had been a rough week. Rougher than normal. Nobara would only admit it because she was using more concealer than planned and needed to restock. Maybe she’ll take Itadori with her to Sophora, make him pick up a tube of full-coverage and matte powder to hide the shadows that cloud his face like pollution in big cities, and then they could attack those ugly eyelid scars.

    Both Nobara and Yuuji, neither of whom are calling the other that, don't really do the whole "how are you?" "I'm fine, thanks, and you?" thing. That's because they're both fine, and curses don't care about their answer. So they're fine, really.
