Summary
Ellie has been away from Jackson for two years, six months, and eleven days when she receives an unexpected phone call that forces her to return home and confront her past.
This AU will be told through dual timelines: one in which we see Ellie sacrifice her relationships in pursuit of her dream, and another timeline wherein Ellie gradually learns to reconcile the two.
--
TLDR; This is an AU in which Ellie is a space nerd who doesn't know how to manage her career and her relationships at the same time and is kind of generally a mess.

Summary
Love is: trying, failing, and trying again. Truth, pain, and generosity. Trust, that will no longer be taken for granted. And bravery, in the wrappings of fear but with so much strength.
Scenes before, during, and after to call myself beloved.

Summary
The path life gives is not always easy to find nor is it easy to walk, Ellie knows this from experience. She always tries her best to put one foot in front of the other, but sometimes that's just not enough. With Dina's pregnancy revelation, every plan she had made was up in smoke and she found herself feeling lost. Could she truly be happy living a simple life? Would she and Dina be able to make this work? She had never had a family before so was this even something she could do?
This story will explore the missing period of Dina's pregnancy through the time that leads up to "The Farm" in the game.

Summary
She’d seen mountains, deserts, snowy valleys. Rivers and oceans, and lakes so large they might as well be oceans. The wide-open plains, with herds of bison roaming freely, skies that carried on forever.
But, sure as the sun rises in the east, civilization had started to push further and further west. Railroads were being constructed, their lines encroaching into the wilds. Telegraph wires started to line the horizon, growing so thick in some cities that it felt like they could block out the sun.
A small mountain town had seemed like a good bet.

Summary
They sit quietly for several long moments before Dina speaks. “You go, I go,” she mutters softly. “I don’t want you to do this alone.”
“Dina…” Ellie says carefully. “I want you with me but not like this, never like this.”
Dina nods, wiping at her eyes.
“I- I have to do this, and you have to stay."//
Ellie travels to Seattle with Tommy. Dina never leaves Jackson. Neither does Jesse. Things go differently.
(this is unfortunately on the back burner and has been for some time, will be continued after my current fic)
