Summary
Slow-burn SQ.
Henry has moved out. The mansion is empty. Regina decides to open it up to foster kids and offer them what Emma never had growing up — a home.
Callie Jacob is a hardened and traumatized teen. She knows she is beyond love. Her only goal is to get Jude into a safe home, after which she can begin to piece together some semblance of a life.
When Callie falls unexpectedly into Regina's care, Regina finds herself struggling to be what Callie needs, and Callie feels unworthy of the family Regina and Emma seem to be offering her.
But with Callie's past hitting a little too close to home for Emma, can the developing romantic relationship between Emma and Regina withstand this new challenge the teen presents? Or can they give Callie the second chance she deserves?

Summary
In those big, sad eyes, Regina could see the monumental error she’d made. She’d allowed the child of her enemies into her heart, and she knew in that moment that Emma would destroy it. What was worse was that Regina would do nothing to stop it, not if it would harm the blonde girl who had finally managed to fill the emptiness in Regina. Regina’s doom was living under her roof, eating her food, and Regina was content to keep it that way. She just hoped, when everything inevitably went up in flames, Emma would understand just how deeply Regina had loved her.

Rewriting a story of mine originally started on FFN under the same name, in which Regina takes Emma before she can escape through the wardrobe. She doesn't know exactly what her plans are, but they aren't to raise Emma. And they certainly aren't to love her like her own child.
