“You want me to what?” Mei gaped, missing the way his blueberry muffin fell out of his hands and into his lap.
And while Eijun felt amused, he also felt… nervous. He really hoped Mei couldn’t hear how fast his heart was beating. “I asked if you would like to meet my family.”
To his amusement, Mei blinked a few times, looking baffled, as if he said something in a foreign language. “Eh? You mean… In Nagano?”
“Here in Tokyo.” Mei raised his eyebrows. “Our family friend, Nakamura-san, was recently hospitalized. They know I’m busy, but they wanted to know if I wanted to meet them for dinner Sunday evening.”
Mei furrowed his eyebrows. “And it’s alright if I come?”
Mei meets Eijun's family (and Wakana), and although he's nervous, it goes well. It leads to a heart-to-heart talk about things that were said, and while Mei doesn't like being vulnerable, he finds that he's glad that he opened up to Eijun.
