Shadow’s hand reaches to his upper chest where the beast had struck him moments earlier, directly in the heart. There was no indication of bleeding, no sticky gore stuck to his fingers when he removed them from his abdomen and inspected them.
“What?” He finally settles on, because every second he spends here gets more and more puzzling. Sonic’s words just aren’t quite clicking.
“You died, Shadow the Hedgehog. Kinda lamely, too, if I might add.”
