Summary
Mel took another deep breath and not so carefully ripped the envelope from ‘KIRAMMAN & Co. EUT’ open. She was trying her best not to damage the envelope but not doing a very good job. Her hands were undoubtedly trembling as she pulled the letter out of the envelope. Her eyes darted around the page, searching for the words she had been waiting weeks to read.
She read it once. Then again. Mel couldn’t believe what she was seeing; her eyes had read it, of course, but her brain was lagging behind. The flurry of words circled around her, dancing around her as much as her mind was dancing around the point. Her brain finally caught up with her as she read the last line.

Carol feels the confusion slip onto her face. Nervousness creeps up her spine again. “Me?”
“I know everything that anybody has ever thought about you, Carol. Every memory. Every feeling. Helen. Your ex-girlfriends. Your dentist. It’s like I have a Carol encyclopedia in my head.”
Carol had thought that she was done experiencing fresh horrors. What a nightmare it is to realize that she is not. “Oh, god.” She says.
“Oh, god,” Zosia agrees.
After they manage to break Zosia free of the hive, Zosia and Carol try to navigate the field of landmines that is their relationship.
