Summary
Then his world came crashing back down, and his eyes shot open at the same time a raggedy gasp finally escaped from his throat, and he scrambled to wrap his arms around the other person, burying his face in his neck, safe. “Will…” he whispered, and the arms around him tightened. “Will,” he managed to croak out again, and for a moment he looked up at the other boy just to say “please don’t leave me.”

Summary
“Think about it, Mike, think long and hard about it! The day you met El, the so called ‘day your life started’ was the day Will went missing!” He half shouted.
Mike’s heart dropped, squeezing with pain and instant realisation. He had fucked up big time, and he needed to fix it.

Summary
“Castle Byers…” Mike’s voice was barely above a whisper, and he walked forward to join Will, sadly looking down and picking up a broken piece of wood that once hung proudly at the top, the words ‘Castle Byers’ broken but just able to read.
“I destroyed this place after our fight last year,” Will admitted, leaning down and picking up a broken piece of what used to be his comfort, almost crying at the memory. It wasn’t just Castle Byers that was broken into pieces that night—it was also his heart, and whether he was going to tell Mike that he was still on the fence about.

Summary
Mike caught a peek at the shorter boy, his heart speeding up at the way his chest slowly heaved up and down and the way his long eyelashes fluttered over his cheeks, his hair messy and unkempt and if he was brave enough he’d reach out and touch it like he desperately wanted to.
But that’d be weird, right?
Right…
