All of the possibilities that Hyunjin has gone through a thousand times already run through his mind as they approach the meeting room, and he’s subtly looking around to see if he can spot Seungmin already.
“Ah, the boss just finished the meeting so he’s heading over here right now. Do you want something to drink while we wait?”
“Just– ahem— Just a glass of water is fine,” Hyunjin answers as he sits down, his throat feeling dry with nerves, and he wipes his clammy hands on his suit pants subtly. His heart is bouncing in his ears and drops when he hears the click of the door opening. He’s here.
“Apologies for being a tad late, but it’s nice to finally meet the friend of one of my trusted employees— Hyunjin-ssi?” Seungmin stops in his tracks and regards him with wide, disbelieving eyes. Hyunjin can’t hold his gaze and looks down at his lap, holding his breath as he braces himself for an angry rant, yelling, anything. “Hold on— Hwang Hyunjin— The Hwang Hyunjin?”
OR: Hyunjin is a single parent looking for work, and his friend recommends him the Kim Company, with CEO Kim Seungmin. Hyunjin and Seungmin have history, however, but Hyunjin is desperate, so he applies.
