"Hey, your hair's a little messy, Wonwoo. How about you comb it?" Mingyu asked politely as Wonwoo and Jeonghan stared at him in surprise, eyes wide. Wonwoo's eyes shifted across the people who stared at them, watching as the thief and the jock interacted.
"I'm sorry but you shouldn't--" Wonwoo tried to neutralize the situation, make it seem like Mingyu only mistook Wonwoo for someone else, but Mingyu cut his words short as he smiled and walked behind him. He carded his fingers through Wonwoo's hair, eliciting gasps from the crowd around them. Very naturally, Mingyu set Wonwoo's hair and smiled at him, "There, it's okay now, isn't it?"
Wonwoo gasped.
Everyone in the cafeteria had just witnessed University Sweetheart Mingyu set Jeon Wonwoo's hair.
"Do you realize what you've done?" Wonwoo almost whispered, voice shaky as moist eyes looked up at Mingyu.
Mingyu smiled, "I do," and a tear escaped Wonwoo's eye.

It’s a good thing. It’s a safe thing, when it comes to Wonwoo and his terrible habit of getting attached, of being suffocating, of being too intense, of simultaneously wanting too much and showing too little.
Mingyu is a good friend and a learning lesson. A good balance to his worst habits.
