He manages to walk two steps inside the room before his legs give up. He falls— messy, uselessly — into the floor, but then he sees Chip’s body resting in the hammock and he can suddenly breathe easily, so it isn't all bad. Jay huffs a humorless laugh, and steps up.
"He's okay, loverboy," she says gently. Gillion can't even try to deny anything, too busy looking at Chip breathing in and out, alive.
