Summary
After a long period of clan warfare that lasted up to the 12th century, began the feudal wars that fostered the formation of Shogunate. Since then, the shogun and samurai warriors were only outranked by the aristocracy within the social structure. It was in the aftermath of the nation’s defeat in World War II that the constitution prohibits offensive use of war against other nations. From there onwards, Japan does not have any military force.
