    Summary

District Four raised its children loudly: some carved by tides and legacy, some dragged under before they ever learned to breathe.
Percy Jackson entered the arena carrying a name the Capitol loved and a future he never asked for, forced to play the child who died proudly.

District Three was another world entirely.
Luck had never favored Annabeth. No one had, not in a long time. And, as soon as his eyes caught hers, she knew there was a reason why. She shouldn't be trusted. Not with loyalty because there were terrible, necessary things she would do to unmake the Games, even if she left no body to drag home.

Percy had always been good at playing the crowd, learning what it meant to become the hero raised for slaughter.
Annabeth didn’t care about his game, only that his life had suddenly become important to her. Before she could stop herself, she offered him a hand out of the cold, breathing darkness.

    The Games made victors.
The arena made something else entirely.
