Summary
"I don't want to talk about it," Eddie says weakly.
Buck shakes his head, "Eddie please. You're scaring me."
"There's nothing to be scared about."
"Then tell me," Buck practically begs, a thumb wiping away the moisture on Eddie's cheek.
"It's just insomnia."
"Eddie please don't lie to me. I want to help. I know I can help but you need to tell me what's going on."
Eddie's eyes flick down, "I'm sorry."
"Eddie," Buck breathes out.
"I'm making you worry over something that's really not a big. I just can't sleep that's all."
OR: A dream about getting shot at triggers an insomniac episode out of Eddie. Buck is there to comfort him with love, kisses, and a hearty hot chocolate.

Summary
"I don't know," Eddie said for what felt like the hundredth time this evening.
"h aies i ai ai deses" Buck spat at Eddie. Fury filling his eyes and arms flexing more and more with every 'syllable'.
Eddie sat there, blank eyed, unsure of what to say.
"h aies i ai ai deses" Buck repeated louder—as if the problem was Eddie's hearing and not the massive mouth piece in his mouth.
"I don't know Buck!"
"Oh come on this is easy," Maddie said laughing.
"Yeah Eddie, this is easy," Chimney mocked.
OR: Eddie was thrilled to have Maddie and Chimney over for game night. That was until he realised two things. For one, he categorically sucks at any and every board game. Secondly, he is dating possibly the biggest sore loser in existence.

Summary
"You're gonna be okay," he whispers, "You're gonna be okay."
Buck nods and brings his face closer, squishing Eddie's nose some more, "Thank you."
"For what?"
"For staying with me."
"Always."
Buck brings his hand up, with a shiver, to Eddie's cheek and rests it there. His fingers find Eddie's eyebrow and they begin to draw their shape. "Eddie-"
"I know." Then, "Me too."
"Yeah?"
Eddie nods, "Yeah."
OR: Feeling guilty over everything, a sleep-deprived and emotionally wrecked Eddie switches duties with Maddie and looks after Buck.

Summary
Buck's sobs calm down, and his tears stop falling. Eddie pats his back, "Better?"
Buck hums in the crook of Eddie's neck, sending shivers down his back, "Yeah uh, thanks."
"Always."
Buck pulls away, but Eddie keeps him at arms length as his hands fall to his waist. He draws circles on them with his thumbs and keeps his eyes at level with Buck's blue ones. "You hungry?"
Right on queue, Christopher's voice resonates through the house, "Dad? What's that smell?"
OR: Post s9e14, Eddie and Christopher are at Buck's for dinner. What little composer Buck was holding onto finally breaks. Eddie is here to comfort him, and Christopher – to his demise – is a witness.
