“You're scared,” Ilay whispered, his voice dripping with false sympathy. "The doctor says you've forgotten everything. Even me."
Taeui swallowed hard, keeping his face blank. "Who... who are you?"
Ilay smiled. It was a beautiful smile, the kind that belonged on a movie poster, hiding the shark beneath. He leaned in close, invading Taeui's space, his eyes locking onto his with a predatory intensity that contradicted his gentle tone.
"I'm Ilay," he said, the words landing like a heavy stone. "And I'm your lover."

Caesar handed Leewon the binoculars after observing the figure that roamed about in the distance, along with the corpses that lay near it.
“And he’s definitely a zombie?” Leewon asked.
“Positive.” Leonid replied confidently, “Saw the bite mark and dead eyes myself. It chased our newest guest here.”
“But why would it attack its own kind?” He asked.
“I agree it’s bizarre, a zombie attacking another zombie,” Leonid said, “But that’s not all.”
He looked serious, which always made Leewon nervous.
“I’m certain it knows I’m here, and has managed to work out the range of my sniper rifle.”
“You’re kidding!” Leewon gasped. Leonid shook his head.
“It won’t pass the first body in the snow. It knows that’s the farthest that I can confidently aim.”
“Get a message to Zhenya,” Caesar instructed. “He’ll be on his way back soon.”
