When he woke up the next morning, Sherlock was still there, or, rather, there again, because he'd been to his room to change. He was pacing the room, fully dressed but barefoot, tapping away at his phone. "Good, you're awake!" he cried, smiling, happier than John had seen him in weeks. John didn't for one moment presume that it was a result of their liaison. There had to be a..."They found another body!" Yes, there it was....
Sherlock looked over at him and frowned. His thumbs slowed on the keyboard, then paused. "Um, you weren't expecting some sort of," he gestured at the bed. "Post-um, coital, cuddling and so on and so forth?"
John considered the idea. "No, I think I'd find that somewhat unnerving, to be honest."
"Oh." Sherlock seemed relieved. "Right then." He continued his pacing and typing.

When Sherlock was ill, John had learned that his Mummy used to read him stories and do little experiments with him. So, John told Sherlock some stories and found simple experiments to do. Sherlock liked that. It reminded him of Mummy and his childhood which was safe and warm and bright. So when John gets ill, Sherlock returns the favour. But he'll never tell Mycroft or even Mrs. Hudson about the time he coloured pages with a delirious John. It'd destroy his carefully constructed facadé as a "Sociopath".

Dices your heart into neat cubes, crushes it with a hammer, runs it thru a meat grinder a couple times, lays it out to dry a little before grinding it into a fine paste, then mixing it into a nourishing soup to keep you going before smacking you upside the head and mixing the leftover heart broth into a pot pie, hitting you in the face with said pie and then making everything all better so you can have a good laugh about it. Yeah, like that.
