Sergio kept his eyes on Luka for another moment before turning back toward the table. The more they talked about him like this, the less amusing the challenge became, particularly after Marcelo’s story about the alpha who had apparently been unable to understand when he was unwanted. “Choose somebody else. If he already spends half his time getting rid of people who won’t leave him alone, I’m not going over there just to become another one.”
Marcelo groaned and leaned back in his chair. “Come on, Sergio. You’re acting like we’re asking you to stalk him. You talk to him, see if he’s interested, and if he’s not, then that’s it.”
“Five minutes ago, you were telling me I had to make him date me.”
“Well, obviously you have to try.”
“I can try with someone else.”
Marcelo studied him for a second, and Sergio immediately recognized the direction his thoughts were taking. “So you are worried he’ll reject you.”
Sergio gave him a flat look. “I’m worried you’re going to become unbearable if I let you keep talking.”

He clenched his fist instead. “Of course,” he hummed, savouring the way Luka’s breath seemed to catch the longer his eyes lingered on his face. “Could I recommend something, or is your mind made up?”
