Summary
“What conclusion have you come up with?”
“Human custom would point to love,” Flins notes. Varka will laugh it off easily enough. Flins will suffer a moment of embarrassment, and it won’t matter at the end of the night. But his teeth ache and something stirs in his stomach, pulling at him, whispering something that sounds unfairly like mine.
A low, soft hum. “And what of the fae?” Varka asks.

Summary
“What’s on your mind this time?” he asks.
That Varka will go with the rising of the sun, that Flins is not canny enough to keep him. “The way your voice sounds right now.”
Varka rumbles with laughter. “My voice is it?” he asks, turning his head to press his lips to Flins’s ear. “And what, exactly, do you like about my voice?”
In the small hours before dawn, Varka attempts to trap Flins with a riddle he can't solve.

Summary
Neuvillette pulls the popsicle out of his mouth, his brows raised. “Your Grace.”
“Monsieur.” Wriothesley stares at the popsicle and then at Neuvillette. “Hot?” he asks, amused.
“Miserably,” Neuvillette replies dryly, and then he slides that popsicle back between his lips, and Wriothesley discovers that the weather isn’t the only source of torment.
A heat wave hits Fontaine, and Wriothesley uses his Cryo Vision to make it more tolerable for Neuvillette.

Summary
“Is there a reason you never want to spend your ruts with me?” Neuvillette asks, so direct that he catches Wriothesley utterly off guard. “Is there some fault with me?” Neuvillette asks softly.
Wriothesley’s head snaps back up. “No,” he says. “No, Neuvillette, not at all. It’s… a fault with me.” He rubs his jaw, forcing himself to meet Neuvillette’s eyes even though he wants, very badly, to look anywhere else. “I’m not… When I’m in rut, it’s…” He drives both hands into his hair, holding it back from his face and closing his eyes. “I’m not good,” he finally says, dropping his hands and hanging his head.
Wriothesley has always struggled through his ruts alone, terrified he will hurt a partner, but Neuvillette refuses to let him suffer alone.
