    “So I missed it?” Jake asked. “Damn. I was excited.” Sunghoon’s cheeks only burned hotter, if that was somehow possible. He watched as Jake leaned forward, sniffing at the potion, as Professor Suh continued to go around the classroom, everyone completely oblivious to Sunghoon’s inner turmoil. Jake seemed to perk up in surprise at recognizing whatever it was that he smelled, and Sunghoon’s stomach twisted in some ugly feeling as he watched redness creep its way up Jake’s neck.
    Jake turned to him then, eyes meeting his own. The ugly knot in his stomach was replaced with hundreds of thousands of bright, colourful butterflies, as Jake’s gaze raked over Sunghoon’s face, and the inferno that was Sunghoon’s cheeks burned so brightly it could rival the sun.

    Sunghoon and Jake are best friends. That's all they are though. Best friends.
    So when their potions class brews amortentia and Sunghoon smells his best friend through the curls of colourful steam, he wonders how it could have ever happened. And more importantly, does Jake return the feelings?
