longtime rivals maxine mayfield and elle “el” hopper are forced into a fake relationship to sell the production, personal resentment into spectacle. they are to not tell anyone about it, not even their friends, a secret held in the hands of their managers. fake smiles, carefully placed hands, and romance made for headlines blur the line between performance and truth in the minds of two confused girls.
the problem is that pretending to be in love night after night has a way of exposing everything they’ve been avoiding, especially when the world is watching.
[i am so sorry, but this is an unfinished work, as i am not involved with the stranger things fandom anymore. i am so thankful for the support given, which is what fueled me to continue to write, but i have lost inspiration with elmax's story :(. i hope that one day i can give them closure and write the rest of what was planned for them, but for now this is unfinished! sorry again, and thank you to those who showed concern]
