“No,” says Buck. “This guy—” and he bounces the thing in his arms like it's a baby, its limbs flailing, “is for you.”
“For—” Eddie blinks. “Buck.”
“I mean, I hope you'll let me visit him,” Buck says, his smile faltering for a breath, which Eddie only spots because he's already looking, “but I won him for you.”
