I felt disconnected from myself, a haze to my vision while I smoked, I tried to keep my hand with the cigarette between my fingers. After that conversation, I’d felt, once again, hopeless. The words of love and admiration would be stuck in my throat. Instead for the time being I’d sit on the stairway down to our place, being more melancholy as the time ticked by, destroying those words I’d want to say with smoke.
