Adding a real treat to the archive today! These adventure serials don't usually survive long because they were printed on such cheap paper but this one came to our digitisation project in pretty good condition. Looks like a previous owner was inspired to add a personal touch along the way, too.

Cascabel is professionally curious about Even's new look, and Even likes to be useful. That's definitely all that's going on here, no other feelings or inclinations on either side.
Just two dudes who appreciate specialist hardware accidentally inventing a new genre of kink.

George abandoned his brushes. “And why is he the one to help you? That’s what I want to know. Two artists in this family, you and me, and you go around asking the dramatist for advice.”
“Beneath this stained shirt beats the heart of a man whose appreciation of the glories of the muses is not confined to a single field.”
“It’s because he’s standing closer,” Gilda said.

Summary
“Crikey,” Chrissy Peveril said, barefoot and slightly breathless from hauling the boat up onto the sand. “Not exactly the Riviera, what? No wonder nobody lives here.”
Leo had never been anywhere near the Riviera, but he couldn’t imagine it looked much like this.A tongue-tied academic takes a field trip to a deserted island with a dubious history of human sacrifice. What could possibly go wrong? Well, for starters, one of his fellow campers is hot, and there's Only One Tent...

Summary
Also cross-posted from Sacrilege!, where it has been for years. This is a sequel to "Absurdly Simple" but it can also be read as a stand-alone story. It is exactly the same except for the fact that I have more clearly marked the changes in narration, which became even more confusing once the chapter divisions disappeared.
Irene Adler is back in London and has returned to the stage, starring in Oscar Wilde's play An Ideal Husband. Violet Hunter ("Copper Beeches") is in London, working as a governess for an aristocratic and dysfunctional family. Holmes, Watson, and Violet are all in the audience on opening night; and they are soon all embroiled in an intrigue involving Irene Adler, Godfrey Norton, Violet's employers, and a diamond brooch in the shape of a snake. Watson and Violet Hunter take turns narrating a story chock full of double-crossing, cross-dressing, and Oscar Wilde.
