He frowns, putting his briefcase aside and toeing off his shoes. “Baby?” he calls out as he makes his way to the kitchen—he’s hoping, at least, that whatever Henry managed to burn that night is contained within the walls of a pot. “If you burned your hand trying to cook, I promise the doctors won’t make fun of you in the hospital.”
