Summary
Not all of the Anti-Personnel Control Squad died when the cavern collapsed; some of them escaped through the tunnel Hange, Moblit, and Armin used. And when the two parties meet, the Anti-Personnel Control Squad takes the three Scouts hostage with the intent to force the Survey Corps’ hand. This slight deviation from canon leads to major consequences that have a resounding effect on the characters involved.
This story takes a deeper look into the mental worlds of Hange and Levi, and it deals with both canon and non-canon events. Despite being pushed to the brink, they keep going – but living as a member of the Scout Regiment is never easy, so their road is one wrought with tragedy and desperation.
