Summary
That terrible October night, Hagrid picks up two children from the ruin in Godric's hollow. A boy with ginger hair and brown eyes, and a girl with black hair and sparkling green eyes, between them the spitting images of their parents. They have matching lightning bolt scars on their foreheads. He delivers them to that blasted house, Dumbledore assuaging his fears for the twins. When he returns ten years later, to see the twins cowering against the wall, he realises that he has been lied to. He brings them out without looking back, and the twins start the long road to recovery.
But though Harry and Heather have been through hell, they have each other, and no one has been able to stop that. Not the Dursleys, and not Voldemort. With their new friends, they'll be alright.
A more serious retelling of the seven years, and hopefully beyond, with two Potters, and alternate character arcs. Hopefully a bit of worldbuilding, that makes things a little bit more realistic, and full.
