Summary
A modernization of North and South in which Margaret Hale is a social worker and John Thornton owns tenements where people live in poverty. Inspired by FaithBW's Back To You, but the plot diverges widely. I draw on my own experience as a social worker to imagine Margaret's life in a modern-day Milton, and I draw on my own *cough* obsession with Richard Armitage to create what I hope is a particularly sexy John Thornton.
Thank you to my North and South Book Club friends for the inspiration to write my first N&S fic!
All pics and gifs are of Richard Armitage as Lucas North in Spooks/MI5, the character who most closely matches my image of the modern-day Thornton.
